Pear on the rocks

Well I did not feel like painting, so I got out my coloured pencils and fine point marker and went to town in my sketch book. I really enjoyed getting lost in the meditative and slightly mundane actions of cross hatching and shading.

Some times getting started on a painting seems like a huge chore but picking up my sketch book and a couple of coloured pencils feels more light hearted and not quite so daunting.

  1. This drawing is exceptional! Love the lightness, freshness of it and yet I can feel the weight of the pear. Beautiful piece of work.

  2. Thanks Vicki, it's nice to make marks with something other than paint every once in a while :)

  3. I know what you mean about that daunting paint! Love how the colors of pear look extra saturated against the subtle ground.

  4. I agree this is very nice. Many years ago I dabbled in drawing and colored pencils - makes me want to try it again - wish I had your talent though. ~~Dan
